Baba Deep Singh Bir

A Guru Granth Sahib attributed to the great Sikh martyr Baba Deep Singh. Baba Deep Singh (1682-1757) was one of the early pioneers of the Sikh manuscript tradition. Establishing a school for the study of the Guru Granth Sahib at Damdama Sahib, he was responsible for having produced some of the very earliest handwritten copies of the final version of the Guru Granth Sahib prepared by Guru Gobind Singh and his scribe Bhai Mani Singh in 1705.
