Maharaja Ranjit Singh

Did Maharaja Ranjit Singh ever wear a helmet? By examining drawings and paintings of the Maharaja verified to have been painted during his own lifetime (prior to his death in 1839) we look for evidence of Ranjit Singh wearing a helmet. While there are many other images of Maharaja Ranjit Singh from the 19th century, most of them were done after his death and these are excluded from this study as they are not a primary contemporary source for an accurate portrayal of the real Ranjit Singh.
